One year ago, Detective Jack Baker had a run-in with a Body Hopper that put him into a body of a teenage girl. Going by the identity “Cate Fox”, she was enrolled in Puellae Aurora Academy, an exclusive high school for students who have recently undergone gender transformation. Cate, now a sophomore at PAA, has a new home, new friends, and a new life. But all of that came at a price. When she receives tragic news from her former home, her world and identity are turned upside down. While she is questioning who she is and her role in this world, the only way she can do that is by resuming her work as a detective. This leads her to partner with an unlikely ally— the secretive Order of the Dawn. Now Cate is thrust into a murder investigation which tests her assumptions about the world of TGs and threatens to expose a conspiracy at the highest levels. But back at PAA, a new problem is brewing. An ancient force is slowly gaining control of PAA and the surrounding town. Without Cate around, her friends and classmates may or may not be up to the task to handle it alone.
